Story of the Week “Week at Christikon”

The first week of August found Pastor Christy, Mike and 3 of our High School students (Emma, Rachel and Megan)camping, hiking and having a great time in Montana. These five were participants of Christikon’s final week of Mountaineer Camp. Over 6 days, they hiked close to 30 miles, slept in tents and even did a little fishing. Throughout each day and each hike, they were able to experience God’s creation while in community with staff members of Christikon, campers from Montana and campers from Illinois too. One of the greatest take-aways from this trip was when Rachel summed up the week  by saying , “This was a great week. It was a cleansing experience.” She (and the rest of the group), felt refreshed being away from cell phones and petty problems. The group grew closer to each other and closer to God.
