This Little Light of Mine, I’m Gonna’ Let it Shine!
On Thursday evening, May 4th, the Spirit of Joy Adult Choir were invited to sing with the St. Dysmas Choir to sing an anthem based on the Christian favorite, “This Little Light of Mine.” St. Dysmas is an ELCA Lutheran congregation behind the walls at the SD State Penitentiary. Their chior practiced for weeks. We practiced, too. On Thursday night we rehearsed together prior to the service and then enthusiastically sang during worship. It was Spirit-filled experience! Both choirs hope to sing together again in the future. Rev. Bob Chell, pastor of the St. Dysmas congregation (and Spirit of Joy partner), led worship. Thanks to Pastor Bob, our director, Susan Wold Rohde, our accompanist, Paul Rohde, and to all the choir members (both choirs!) who were able to join us!
