What was important Jesus moment in your life?
There are so many moments! I can look back and see Jesus moments throughout my life… when I was a child, a teenager, an adult; when I was happy, sad, and confused; throughout the celebrations and the difficulties. A perfect reminder of trusting that God is with me through all things, and provides all that I need. Maybe this was another one of those moments!
What is the best part about working for Jesus and his people?
Sharing and supporting one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. One day, I had been given an opportunity to give away homemade meals to working families. Families that had worked long hours already and still needed to go home and feed their children. The meal was a surprise. As I offered the meal, the recipient looked up at me with gratitude and hope and said, “You have no idea how much this helps me today. Thank you.” I was surprised by what I saw. It gave me the chance to be grateful for my blessings. Because I was able to share what I was given, I was blessed as well.
What is your favorite TV show and why? NCIS. The writing is thought-provoking and sometimes surprising with likeable, quirky characters.
What is the most fun you have ever had?
Writing VBS skits and then attempting to act them out without losing my place in the script or laughing. There have been synchronized swimmers performing without water and mountain climbers with dust pan snow shoes; moody flight attendants, confused cowboys, and marathon runners more worried about their nails than their stride. All in all, a good laugh but always with a purpose.
If you could sit down and have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be? Now that I am an adult, I would love to sit down with my grandpa and talk with him. (He died when I was in 5th grade.) He taught me about unconditional love and perseverance. He guided my faith as a quiet, gentle role model. Now that I am a parent, I would love to learn more from him.
