One of Spirit of Joy’s Core Values states that “All people matter to God so they matter to us.” This statement includes all people – including the hungry, the homeless and people released from prison.

Recently, Spirit of Joy’s Growth Team had the opportunity to serve supper at the St. Francis House, a home for the homeless where they can get their lives back in order. The five members of the Growth team who served are: Mike Haddican, Katherine Eisele, Amy Miller, Adam Punt and Tim Krause. This opportunity to serve included prepping the meal and feeding 40 people who call the St. Francis House their home. This experience helped remind the Growth Team that all people matter to God –those we see on a daily basis and those we do not see. Stepping out of our daily routine helps us as Christians realize that life is not about us as individuals – life is about loving our neighbor, shining God’s light everywhere and sharing hope with those who’ve experienced hopelessness.
